Here is where you will find external links to SAR training resources. If you complete a course that generates a certificate, print a copy and keep it for your records.

 

 

National Incident Management System

ICS 100, 200 and 700 are recommended for Search and Rescue personnel, to be able to integrate into larger resources, and to organize our own internal incident management. These courses are free and no pre-requisites are needed.

Mountain Rescue Association Courses

The Mountain Rescue Association (MRA) Learning Management System is an online learning platform designed to enable rescue mountaineers to gain accreditation in various rescue-related training topics.  The MRA provides this program free of charge to users worldwide.

National Association for Search and Rescue

A collection of SAR-related courses offering accreditation in offerings such as HAZMAT awareness, and SARTECH III and IV. These courses have fees associated with them and book purchases may be required. These are not required courses for West Elk Mountain Rescue.

Proper donning and doffing of personal protective equipment (PPE). Pay special attention to how to use alcohol-based sanitizer properly and how gloves are removed without contaminating one's hands. You should practice and be comfortable with this technique
